  Citywide Prayer Requests...

  • Praises... for salvations via extraordinary events in Indy this year so far.
    • 1,900 reported from SBC's 'Crossover Indiana' in June.
    • 1,500 from 'The Passion' (using averages from Barna's research).
    • [Each of these numbers is more than the appx number of metro-area deaths in a given month.  The Great Commission is on the move in Indy!]

  •      Pray for Samuel Carrasco, son of Rudy Carrasco -- Director of the Harambee Center in L.A..  Sammy has just been diagnosed with Leukemia.  Rudy is a friend of urban city-reachers in Indianapolis and across the country.  He's well known to many of us via his 'Urban Onramps' blog and his board role at Tech Mission who will be holding their national conference in Indy 2005.  Sammy, our hearts go out to you, and our prayers go up to God on your behalf.  And God is faithful... and He cares.

  • Pray for the 2004 Goals for Greater Indianapolis... [See right.]  The Aug. 10th meeting of Transform Indiana will feature an update from all sectors, and prayers and plans for the remainder of the year.  Come join the discussion and prayer time.

Volunteer online to pray or be a Christian contact for YOUR neighborhood.

Join a citywide prayer group... or help your groups to become more city-focused.

Local Christian 'News'
'Bud Hound', Embedded Reporter with the Army of God

  • One Indiana Senator votes pro-family.  One votes against...

    • Senator Richard Lugar voted to end the Senate filibuster of the Federal Marriage Amendment in order to move the proposed constitutional amendment process forward, clearly establishing the nation's definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman.

    • Senator Evan Bayh voted to continue the filibuster despite a landslide of calls from his constituency back home in Indiana.
Candidate Marvin Scott, running to unseat Sen. Bayh this fall, is clearly on the record in favor of such an amendment.

The traditional definition of 'family' will never go away -- it's rooted in God's creative design and His inerrant word.  So the question of the legal definition can only go away when settled accordingly.  And Christians who are called to be salt & light, will continue praying and pursuing God's blessings for our communities.

Sat. July 24th -- Pastors & Techs...  It's a win-win-win!  Come bring your tech questions and problems... and a suggested donation of $25 to benefit the Unleavened Bread Cafe in urban Indianapolis.  Starting at 10am, we'll have fun learning some practical answers to church technology issues & opportunities.  Special guest that day will be Dr. John Perkins, Founder, CCDA.  Come have a digital photo made, or get a book signed.  And let us help you with your tech issues.   [More info below.]

Fri/Sat, July 30-31 -- Promise Keepers...  Don't miss it, Indianapolis !

Tues. Aug. 10th -- Transform Indiana...  the growing coalition to prosper greater prayer, care & share, community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood, throughout cities around the state.  This particular lunchtime meeting will be devoted to reporting & assessment of 2004 goals & strategies.  Our host will be....  Come connect with us over lunch -- important details online.

August 9-13, Crossroads Bible College Fall Semester...  Registration begins this week.  Are you a Christian leader wishing to have more training or impact?  Are you aspiring to perhaps someday be such a leader?  Do you wish you knew more about working multi-culturally alongside others not quite like yourself?  Do you simply wish to get more Bible training at an accredited college?  Do you think you can't afford such an education?  The answer to all of these questions is found at... 352-8736.

Sat. Aug. 28th, "Change, Integrity, Availability"... "Building Blocks for Growth" Seminar for Pastors, Administrators & Board Chairs.  We’re called to a Great Commission that is faith-in-action based… and today more than ever as a result of our accelerating world.  So how do we balance this call to changed lives and a changed world… while exercising due diligence in risk analysis and careful stewardship of our resources?

National (Every)Day of Prayer...  Indiana was specially cited by Shirley Dobson, this year's Chairperson of National Day of Prayer (May 6th).  All 92 counties hosted an event in their area.  No other state has accomplished this in recent years!  Further, on an ongoing basis, there are a number of 'driven Christians' involved at the State House, in prayer & Bible studies.  Contact Tom Walker, State Coordinator for more information about how you can get involved praying for (and with!) our leaders, here and in Washington.

Oct. 7th-8th, Midwest City-Impact Roundtable... Mark your calendars now -- this convergence will hold major potential impact as pastors & leaders come together, purposing to pray & pursue the Great Commission together via Bible-believing networks in cities throughout Indiana and bordering states... co-sponsored by Transform Indiana & Mission America coalitions.  Check out the agenda online.  [And stay tuned for news re a special intensive session with a special guest to Indy...]

PLAN AHEAD using this comprehensive list of events...
MANY MORE KEY EVENTS are listed at http://IndyChristian.com/events.htm.  Also find the links to other key calendars around the city. Be sure your key citywide events are on the list... for years ahead.  It's just another way we can serve one another by using a centralized planning tool.
