Pray
for Samuel Carrasco, son of Rudy Carrasco --
Director of the Harambee Center in L.A.. Sammy
has just been diagnosed with Leukemia. Rudy is a
friend of urban city-reachers in Indianapolis and
across the country. He's well known to many of
us via his 'Urban
Onramps' blog and his board role at Tech
Mission who will be holding their national
conference in Indy 2005. Sammy, our hearts go
out to you, and our prayers go up to God on your
behalf. And God is faithful... and He cares. |
- Pray
for the 2004
Goals for Greater Indianapolis... [See right.] The
Aug. 10th meeting of Transform
Indiana will feature an update from all sectors, and
prayers and plans for the remainder of the year. Come
join the discussion and prayer time.

One
Indiana Senator votes pro-family. One votes against...
-
Senator
Richard Lugar voted to end the Senate filibuster of the
Federal Marriage Amendment in order to move the proposed
constitutional amendment process forward, clearly establishing the
nation's definition of marriage as being between one man and one
woman.
-
Senator
Evan Bayh voted to continue the filibuster despite a landslide
of calls from his constituency back home in Indiana.
Candidate Marvin Scott, running to unseat Sen. Bayh this
fall, is clearly on the record in favor of such an amendment.
The
traditional definition of 'family' will never go away -- it's rooted
in God's creative design and His inerrant word. So the question
of the legal definition can only go away when settled
accordingly. And Christians who are called to be salt &
light, will continue praying and pursuing God's blessings for our
communities.

National
(Every)Day of Prayer... Indiana was specially cited by
Shirley Dobson, this year's Chairperson of National Day of
Prayer (May 6th). All 92 counties hosted an event in their
area. No other state has accomplished this in recent
years! Further, on an ongoing basis, there are a number of
'driven Christians' involved at the State House, in prayer &
Bible studies. Contact Tom Walker, State Coordinator for
more information about how you can get involved praying for
(and with!) our leaders, here and in Washington. |
