Bio:  Neil Cox
Founder, IndyChristian.com

Neil became a Christ-follower at age 8 in a tiny country church in Central Illinois.  Now a resident in the Indianapolis area, he provides financial and innovative services for the Christian community, doing business as 'Ministry Support Services'.

In 1970, after meeting his bride-to-be at Wheaton College, Neil went on to serve with the 101st Airborne Division in Viet Nam, receiving the Bronze Star.  He later graduated from Eastern Illinois University in the School of Business, earned his CPA certification, and started his corporate career with KPMG Peat Marwick.  He later became the CFO of a regional tire company in Central Illinois.

After 12 years of marketplace experience, Neil moved his family to Ft. Lauderdale for 10 years to serve as Financial Director of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church -- home of Evangelism Explosion, International.  While there, Neil also served as a Certified E.E. teacher-trainer.

During the dot-com boom, Neil came to Indianapolis as a consultant to manage Conseco's web-project, becoming the first insurance company to transact policies nationwide via the internet.

In 1999, with a passion for evangelism and cost-effective innovation, Neil launched IndyChristian.com, the local web portal to connect 'driven Christians in the Racing Capital of the World'.

Shortly thereafter, he also began as Administrator at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church  in the heart of Indy's inner-city.  While there, he helped start an urban internet-training program for the neighborhood, which continues to this day at the Unleavened Bread Cafe.  He now serves on the board of the cafe ministry as it serves the Mapleton Fall Creek community.

Neil and other parachurch leaders worked together to found the "Transform Indiana" ministry-network in 2002.  One of its affiliates is the citywide "Faith, Hope & Love" initiative, in which Neil participates on his community's leadership team.   He has also been a past board-member of CBMC Indiana..

Today, IndyChristian.com continues to serve as a collaborative center-point for evangelical churches & ministries in the community, accelerating Christian harmony and impact.  As a result, he has come to know and love many great ministries -- often helping them connect, urban and suburban.  In that capacity, he served on the City's Leadership Team for the national CCDA conference hosted in Indy in 2005.

Nationally, he co-founded the 50-state Blews.Network and currently co-chairs Mission America's "City Reaching Internet Strategies Task Force".  He was recently honored with a 2007 'Salt & Light' award given by the Center For Reclaiming America.

Today, through 'Ministry Support Services', Neil provides innovative financial and strategic coaching in the Christian community.  Over the years, a major client has been Crossroads Bible College, He now serves as the college's founding director of its new 'Center For Urban Innovation'.

Neil and his wife live on the north side of Indianapolis, where Janice is a teaching therapist in a local public school.  They attend River Oaks Community Church in Carmel.  They have two grown sons, Brian and Stephen.
